STUMBLING BLOCKS ARE STEPPING STONES! Part 1
“If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes.” (Job 14:14)
What you would call a stumbling block, God calls a stepping stone. What you think is a setback is paving way for a comeback. Adversities are not always adverse because hardship is just a hard ship. It is taking you somewhere, stay put! Let me give you six reasons why I believe stumbling blocks are stepping stones:
One, NO MAN IS IMMUNE TO PROBLEMS IN LIFE. Problems are universal phenomena. It happens to every man in every place regardless of social class, financial status or race. There is no mortal man alive today who have never had or is not having a problem. Obstacles come in every man’s way.
Moses murdered a man in his anger! Abraham slept with his maid. Daniel was thrown into a lion’s den! Joseph was lied against and imprisoned. David committed adultery and covered it up with murder. Demosthenes, the Greek orator stuttered! Abraham Lincoln was a celebrated loser. Franklin D. Roosevelt was paraplegic. Helen Keller was blind, deaf and dumb! Thomas Edison lost his laboratory in an inferno in his sixties!
Mortal man is prone to adversity. Beneath every star is a scar. Adversity I’ve found out is the breakfast of champions. So, congratulations! Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. A headache is proof that you have a head. If you’re not standing, you can never fall. If you’re alive and kicking; in pursuit of a dream, you will have obstacles (Ecclesiastes 10:19). No man is immune to problems in life.
Two, IT IS 'COMMON' TO MAN. Your setback is not extraordinary, it is ‘common’ to man (1 Cor. 10:13). Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. Stop making that much ado about nothing. God calls it ‘common’, why make it special! You are not the first. And you’ll probably not be the last. And if others came out of their predicaments, you’re coming out also! Play it down and pray it up. Play down the problem and play up the wisdom and power of God. it is ‘common’ to man!
Three, EVERY HARDSHIP TEACHES A LESSON. That’s what makes stumbling bocks stepping stones. There is a message in every mess, a sense in every nonsense. Problems are opportunities for learning. The truth is you may have failed to achieve your purpose but you’ve at least learnt how not to do what you want to do! Setbacks don’t have to set you back, it should rather teach you something new about where you’re going.
Stay with me, I'll be back soon with the other three reasons. YOU WILL SUCCEED!

Leaders are Learners!
Everyone's got an addiction. Learning is the addiction of a leader.
Leadership demands that you stay on top of your game, whatever field you're in. And that demands continual learning.
To stay ahead, you have to read ahead. To keep leading you have to keep learning. That may sound cliche, but it's so very true.
Real leaders are learners.
I have committed myself to being a lifelong student. I think that is part of the price I have to pay to effectively execute my assignment as a public speaker and teacher of God's Word. That's why I read daily, no matter what.
If you are a reader today, you'll be a leader tomorrow. Don't settle for mental atrophy, keep learning and reading even long after your formal school days are over. That is one sure way of curing your destination disease - that feeling that you have arrived and you need do nothing more to succeed. Perish that line of thought, you must keep learning.
You're only through when you're through learning. You're old when you stop learning, whether you are 20 or 80! To help you along this line I've written a book on this subject soon to hit the book-stands. I believe it will help you. Lay your hands on it. You will succeed!

WELCOME!
Hi! I'm 'Yomi Olufiade. I'm privileged of God to be the founder and lead pastor of LightHouse International Assembly, Abuja, Nigeria. So what do I do? I pray, I study, I think. Then I speak, I teach; I write and I coach people; in short, I communicate the concepts I formulate from God's Holy Word - the Bible- in books, articles, speeches and sermons and via electronic and broadcast media.
I do this for groups, churches, companies, on campuses and in cities across Nigeria and beyond. As long as it helps you find, follow and fulfill God's purpose for your life; if it motivates you to achieve tremendous success in your line of calling, I'm in! This is my passion, this is my mission; it is my mandate from God.
My core competencies cover motivation and inspiration, leadership and personal development, spiritual growth and life enhancement.
I'm the husband of one wife; I am married and have been married to my friend of more than two decades, Olufunmilola, who pastors with me. And we're blessed with two lovely kids, Samuel AanuOluwalofifunmi and Joyce AanuOluwalofikemi. They make our home a haven of peace and joy.
Welcome to Oracles of Wisdom. Here, I intend to share with you regularly (and receive from you too), thoughts from my heart garnered from God's Word-which I believe is the ultimate wisdom manual for successful everyday living.
I do hope you will stay connected and let's have a good time together and be blessed at it. I love you, I really do!
